Learn not only 'how' to build a model, but also 'why' each section matters and 'when' to go deeper in your model build, based on our founder's experiences across IB, PE and HF roles.
The same stale training from the late 1990's that focuses on 'how' to enter data into Excel.
We recommend that you have an understanding of Accounting Fundamentals, Valuation Fundamentals and Financial Modeling prior to attempting this course.
Large Investment Banks do not typically require undergraduate interviewees to complete an LBO model. But building models in advance of interviews can solidify your foundational knowledge. With that said, modeling tests are much more common with local and regional banks. Further, if you are aiming to lateral into an Investment Banking role, you are very likely to encounter a modeling test.
While Private Equity Analyst (i.e. post-undergrad) hires don't typically have to build a model, we strongly recommend working through at least one model prior to interviewing to build a basic conceptual model of LBO model functionality. Virtually all Private Equity Associate interviews (i.e. post-banking) require candidates to complete a model test.
